Registration OPEN
SPRING Session: Apr. 6, 2024 - May 11, 2024
30-minute swim lessons on Saturdays for six weeks. Select from two class times: 10:15 a.m. or 10:50 a.m. This is an interactive class with advanced members of the KW Swim Team in the water teaching younger swimmers how to swim.

KW Pre-Competitive
SPRING Session: Apr. 8, 2024 - Jun. 5, 2024
The KW Pre-Competitive Swim Team is for swimmers who have demonstrated the necessary skills to move beyond beginner swim lessons. These swimmers are ready to prepare to join the KW Swim Team. We offer three sessions per year for Pre-Competitive registration: Fall, Winter, and Spring.

How much does it cost to register?
KW Swim Team: You can view the exact registration fees during the registration process. Fees are different for each Skill Group Level. Additionally, KW Swim Team registrants are required to separately purchase a USA Swimming Membership.

When are practices / lessons?
KW Swim Team: During the Fall / Winter and Spring Seasons, practices are held during the late afternoon and evening hours. During the Summer Season, practices are held in the morning. View a sample practice schedule.
We compete in swim meets throughout the Allegheny Mountain region, from the North Hills to Moon. We typically have two Home Meets during the Fall / Winter season. And, as swimmers progress and achieve certain time standards, they have opportunities to compete at the state, region, and national levels as well.

Where are practices / lessons and meets?
KW Swim Team: Most practices take place at the Fox Chapel High School Swimming Pool. Per the high school's policy, we must enter the school through the doors located by the "Fox statue." We are guests of the high school and are obligated to respect the facility and any rules set forth by the facility. Some groups may also swim at Shady Side Academy Senior School. Additionally, we use various nearby outdoor pools during the Summer Season. Learn more about pool locations.

Who are the coaches?
Cindy Woods has been coaching with the Fox Chapel Killer Whales since 2012, and she has coached for a total of 23 years, producing top-performing athletes at every level -- zones swimmers, sectional qualifiers, WPIAL and PIAA champions and record holders, junior national qualifiers, and an Olympic trials qualifier.
