KW Swim School Lessons - FALL Registration (for Beginner Swimmers) Opens Sep. 8, 2025

The KW Swim School is a multi-week, lesson-based swim program designed to teach children to swim safely. Our dynamic approach to swim instruction allows children ages 3 to 12 to learn safe, effective, and sustainable aquatic skills. 

Our swim school students range from those with little to no aquatic experience to those learning freestyle and backstroke, preparing to build endurance. Our KW Swim Team coaches direct our swim school. Parents/guardians "stay dry" and watch while advanced members of our competitive KW Swim Team are in the pool with the students.

Swimmers progress through six levels of development and can seamlessly transition to the more advanced KW Jr. Whales skill group. 

  • LEVEL 1: Water Comfort & Entry Basics
  • LEVEL 2: Independent Floating & Breath Control
  • LEVEL 3: Kick & Glide Development
  • LEVEL 4: Freestyle & Safety Foundations
  • LEVEL 5: Deep End
  • LEVEL 6: Body Positioning
  • Once swimmers have passed Level 6, they can join the KW Jr. Whales, which will prepare them to join the KW Swim Team.

Session Dates: Sep. 27, 2025 - Nov. 8, 2025  (No class on Nov. 1, 2025)

Days and Times Offered: Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Location:  Fox Chapel Area High School Pool

Lesson Length: 30 minutes

Cost: $135 (for six total lessons)

Will you offer more Swim School Lessons sessions?
Yes, we offer multi-week Swim School Lessons in the fall, winter, spring, and summer. You must register separately for each session. 
 
When and where are practices?
When you register, you will see specific time slots and days offered.
 
Who are the coaches?
Lessons are supervised by a Killer Whales Coach and advanced KW Swim Team members are in the water with the children who are learning how to swim. 
 
Requirements & Tips
  • Swimmers must be ages 3 to 12.
  • All participants must be toilet-trained. No diapers are permitted in the pool
  • The water temperature is kept at competition temperature (a little on the cooler side), so your child may want to wear a surf shirt during their classes.
