About Killer WhalesLocated in Pittsburgh, PA, the Fox Chapel Killer Whales is a non-profit competitive swim club registered with Allegheny Mountain Swimming, a division of USA Swimming

We offer first-class, year-round swim programs for young children through adults: our Swim Team for competitive swimmers, Swim School for young children taking their first strokes, and the Flying Fish Heads for masters/adult swimmers.

 

 

Mission Statement

The mission of the Fox Chapel Killer Whales is to provide an athlete-centric, community-based swim program built on the foundation of team unity and integrity that inspires swimmers of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to achieve their maximum potential. We strive to develop core values of a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and high self-esteem. We are committed to providing an environment that is safe, inclusive, and supportive of all athletes, coaches, and volunteers.

The vision of the Fox Chapel Killer Whales is to provide a safe athletic experience for all swimmers -- from novice to national caliber -- to achieve their aspired level of success. We continually strive to be leaders in our community and in USA Swimming.

Head Coach

Cindy Woods has been coaching with the Fox Chapel Killer Whales since 2012, and she has coached for a total of 23 years, producing top-performing athletes at every level -- zones swimmers, sectional qualifiers, WPIAL and PIAA champions and record holders, junior national qualifiers, and an Olympic trials qualifier.

Pool Locations

The home-base of the Killer Whales is the Fox Chapel High School pool. Depending on the swim season and the swim program, we also hold practices at various indoor and outdoor pools around the area.

Fox Chapel Killer Whales Swimming is committed to safeguarding its athletes and abides by USA Swimming’s Safe Sport program – a comprehensive abuse prevention program to keep kids safe, including required policies and best practice guidelines; mandatory screening, including criminal background checks and employment screening; training and education; monitoring, supervision, and mandatory reporting.

Fundraising & Sponsorships

The Fox Chapel Killer Whales is a non-profit swim club that is organized, operated, and funded by parents. We hold fundraising campaigns and offer sponsorship opportunities to ensure that our organization continues to be a first-class, year-round swim program for young children through adults in the Fox Chapel area.
